A great way to end

The day started off with a delicious breakfast consisting of eggs, cereal, and oatmeal. After this we rushed to the van and departed to the Christian Service Center. The 50-minute car ride was filled with music from the 80s all the way to the 2000s. As we approached the center each person was given a task. The choices were working in the kitchen to prepare and serve food, working in the thrift store to sort clothing, and working with their partnership program SALT that offers showers and washing machines to people in need. Some students were assigned to build metal cabinets which are going to elementary schools as a food pantry. Overall the experience was enlightening as we all learned and showed support to those in need.

After volunteering, we returned back to the resort to eat and take a break to enjoy our last day of Intensive Learning. As a group, we decided to go out to dinner to spend time with each other at TGI Friday’s. We returned back to the resort to pack up our belongings for our early morning flight back to Philadelphia. We went to the deli to grab some last minute snacks, and then we took a brief walk around the resort. Overall, our last day of Intensive Learning was spent reminiscing about the lives that we helped while engaging in service activities in Florida. This experience allowed us to open our minds to other experiences such as serving communities other than the Moorestown Friends Community. Participating in these community activities was an unforgettable, amazing experience.
