Arts and Entertainment, Day Two: Touring the Wells Fargo Center

This morning, we left school at around 9:30 a.m. for a 30-minute bus ride to the Wells Fargo Center. When we arrived we were greeted by our two tour guides. They led us to our first stop on the tour, which was the “hat trick” spot, where we learned what a hat trick was and what the hats in the containers represented. Afterwards, we were led to the club level area where we were able to see the rink for the first time very clearly and hear a little more history about the two teams that play there (Sixers, Flyers). We got to ride in the freight elevator and went up to the broadcasting booths of 97.5 WIP and other radio stations. We saw the Gene Hart Memorial Press Box and learned about how he was the “Voice of the Flyers” for 29 years. Our final stop was the upper deck box seats where you could get a perfect, birds-eye view of the rink.

After the tour we headed back home for another bus ride. During the bus ride back, friends tried brainstorming ideas for our rap for the Thursday trip to a recording studio. Once we finally got back home it was time for lunch and the group separated into mini groups depending on what they wanted to eat. We ate for about an hour, and then headed back to Ms. Kitching’s room. We spent time picking our service project groups for Wednesday morning before we go to see Frozen. Lastly, we brainstormed more ideas for Thursday’s recording projects. We are excited for another great day in Arts and Entertainment tomorrow!
