We had an early start at 4:15 a.m., and although it was a long day of travel, everyone was excited to arrive in Florida.
Today was a more relaxed day as we settled in. After our flight, we went to Chipotle for lunch and then stopped at Walmart to pick up the items we would need for the house. This helped make the experience feel more real, as we began to adjust to living together for the week.
At 6:45 p.m., we headed to Medieval Times for dinner, which was the highlight of the day. At first, we were simply watching the performance, but the energy shifted when our knight, the black and white knight, entered the arena. Our group became much more engaged, cheering and supporting him throughout the competition. When he won, it felt like a shared victory, and everyone celebrated together. This experience connects to the Quaker value of community. Community is not just about being in the same place, but about sharing experiences and supporting one another. At Medieval Times, our group came together in a way that made the experience more meaningful. The collective energy and enthusiasm showed how strong a sense of community can be when everyone is involved.

We are looking forward to beginning our volunteer work with the families at Give Kids the World and participating in the different shifts. We hope to continue building this sense of community throughout the week as we work together and support one another.
