Flight to Fairbanks

After a rush of anticipation, we made it to the school, dark and early, at 2:20 A.M.. The bus ride to the airport was rather long, but we all made it work, whether it was through sleeping, eating, or aimlessly talking to each other and enjoying one another’s company. When we arrived at the airport, there was a second rush of anticipation upon seeing that our flight was approaching. After getting through TSA, fighting rushes of sleepiness, overpriced airport food, and a battle for outlets, we made it onto our first flight. It seemed like a blur of clouds, sleep, and music.

Sleep deprived, we made our way to the second flight. Most of us passed out again. We landed among the mountains. We met our cool tour guide Wade. Wade who told us Alaska facts and dad jokes. Some of us attempted to cook food and failed. We then we bought snacks at a grocery store and took a picture at a moose sculpture. Finally we headed back to the hotel before dinner.

After stocking up at the incredible corner store and taking pictures, we had some down time before dinner. We then met at the lobby to eat a ton of pizza. We ordered dominos and local pizza and it was all very good besides some Thai pizza that Mr. Ottman ordered, which was 3/10. We then went back to our rooms and many of us passed out, some of us so tired that we ended up leaving 15 minutes later than we were scheduled to for Aurora viewing. We drove to a point to see the lights and stayed near a fire and drank coffee. We didn’t see the Borealis, but we were entertained nonetheless.
