MFS Alum Zack Fox Joins Us for a Nighttime River Cruise

Today we got up early to catch our three hour flight to Shanghai. While up in the air you can see the many ports and ships full of storage containers. Later when we landed and walked around we learned that Shanghai is a very important place for China as it is a big part of their economy.

When we went to dinner we met Zack Fox, an MFS alum, who decided that he wanted to live in China because of the Intensive Learning trip he took here in 2018. He came back to have lunch with us and to come on a very scenic cruise across the Huangpu River with us. He explained to us how the American food brands didn’t hit it off so well when they first got to China and explicitly Shanghai. They had to tailor the menu to food more accepted and liked by the local people, and that took about 5 years to do.

The night cruise was honestly the most beautiful sights we saw on this trip. Looking at all the buildings soar above us, with all of them having their own unique style and purposes shows how advanced this city truly is. The glowing buildings at night gave us the chance to witness some of the amazing views you see in the photos.
