Painting + a Horse & Carriage Ride

Tuesday, March 26

Today we woke up around 7:30 for a magnificent breakfast. It consisted of fresh fruit, butter crackers, and a fried treat! Yum! Afterwards, we got ourselves prepared for a day of work. ten of us went to another Quaker Meeting House to prepare it for a new paint makeover! The others went to the home of the pastor of the church where we’re staying to paint the inside.

Around 1:00, we had lunch together back at the church. This time we had fantastically cooked rice, beans with vegetables, and more delicious fresh fruit. Afterwards, we had about a two-hour break where we had some down time and then went out to a beautiful museum housed within a 19th century upper class home. We then went on a walk with one of the members of the church and saw a beautiful beach, some new places for snacks, and we ended back at the ocean.

After, we went on an often-used form of transportation here in Cuba: a horse and carriage ride! We ended back at the church and then ate dinner which was awesome! We had pork chops, rice, fresh fruit, papas fritas 🙂 and some cookies which were reminiscent of peanut butter pattys from the Girl Scouts back home! After dinner we now have some downtime to play cards and just hang out! Can’t wait for the days to come! Woot!
