Today we all had somewhat working robot by the end of the day. A lot of time was spent testing the software with the hardware and making modifications to both. By the end of lunch everyone was able to spend time on the competition field for much needed practice and strategy sessions. This time also allowed us to test, modify, test, modify, test and modify. Its is amazing how much times is spent building, testing, and rebuilding. The engineering design process is iterative: brainstorm, prototype, test, modify and repeat.
Excerpts from our engineering journals:
| Work: Today was very productive, specifically, our group first fixed the servos for a few hours (most likely 5), we added one more motor that helps move our elbow on the robot, finally we completely tested the robcoding the servos.ot on the field, which was quite funny and a good learning experience. | Reflection: Our group had many issues with servos having not enough power to move some of the parts, in which our group had to gather some of Mr. Omilian’s wisdom to solve our movement problems. But we also had a problem with our wires getting in the way, so hopefully we move them and fix them to prevent that. |
