China: Service at The Bethel Foundation

After breakfast we took at bus trip to southwest Beijing to the Bethel Foundation.  This is a place for blind and visually impaired children ages 2-8.  While there we cleaned buckets, raked and picked up tree clippings, washed play equipment, and cleaned the pool.  We also got to meet some of the children when they were finished with the day.  We also brought some stuffed animals for the children.  Finally before we left many of us bought shirts, cards, and other things sold in their store.  Everything in the store was made by the children and all of the money goes to their school.

After out trip to Bethel, we freshened up at the hotel then went to Nanluoguxiang, a street market that has many shops and dinner places.  We broke up into groups and got to shop, eat and use our Chinese independently.  After our time there, we all got back together and walked back to the hotel to rest up for our trip to the Great Wall tomorrow.
