Appalachian Trail: Spring butterfly

Well, today was glamorous.

The day started off with everyone filling up their reusable water bottles. We left in awesome SUVs for the Camden Children’s Garden and I, David, DJed the heck out of the ride. I accidentally changed songs when everyone got really into the music and after that almost had to walk to the garden.

We arrived and were greeted with rakes and paint. After many tireless hours of raking (1 hour) we had to put the leaves on the truck. Where did the leaves go? We don’t know. Evidence points to the river.

Lunch was delicious (thanks Mom!).

After lunch came one of the hardest thing I have ever done – mulching. We had to move a sizable about of mulch. A Sudan-sized pile. Some people were on wheel barrel duty. That list includes David, Emily, John, Armon, Luke, and Alex. The most amazing thing happened: Spring butterfly (a roller coaster ride that they let us use).

All in all, the day was a success, and it felt good to help out a little bit at the Camden Children’s Garden.
