Fresh from our trip to College Settlement, we started the day back at MFS. We gathered together in the morning to reflect on our time there and compose thank you notes for the camp staff. We all took turns writing messages of gratitude and friendship to the wonderful team of people who worked tirelessly to make sure our experience was fun and rewarding.
We then worked in our advisories to plan our team building program for our friends in 4th grade. We took the fun games that we learned at camp and thought about how we could best teach them to the students in Mr. Sam and Mrs. Marchese’s classes. It was cool to switch into the roles of camp counselors as we explained the rules, enhanced the challenges, and led discussions about how the activities helped build communication, teamwork, and community.

We concluded this part of the day by having lunch with the 4th graders.

Our next stop was Brain Freeze! We all walked down Main Street to the ice cream parlor, where we ordered sundaes, root beer floats, gelatis, and cones. We returned to school and had a special surprise: time on the Playscape!
Our final activity of the day will be Meeting for Worship with the whole division, where we will share messages with one another about our experiences.
This week brought our whole grade closer together! The memories we made will last a long time – pulling weeds in the rain at Strawbridge Lake, screaming on the wild tractor ride, listening for the sounds of peeper frogs in the woods at twilight, and singing our hearts out at the campfire.
