Over 500 hours of community service in one week!

Today was our last day in Bivalve, so we were busy at work finishing projects. The AJ Meerwald went for a sail in the morning with the coastguards. We couldn’t go, so we stayed on the docks. Some people painted a part of the wood (the centerboard) from the ship while on the dock. We painted it “Smurf blue.” Actually, it’s just blue paint that is more friendly to marine life than the red color they used previously. People also painted the doors inside and scraped paint from the Cashier’s deck house. After a morning of hard work it was time for our banquet lunch. We ate with the crew. After we ate, Megan, the woman in charge of Bayshore Discovery, gave us a certificate. We have done 500 hours of service in just one week. It was great to be a part of the Bayshore Discovery Program, and it was an incredible experience!
