Bye London, Bonjour Paris!

We had an early start this morning. We had to be out of the hotel by 5:00 am (1 am at home!) to catch our 7:30 train to Paris! The train was about 2 hours long and 30 of those minutes we were under water crossing the channel. The train reached 186 kph!

Once we got settled in we went and explored. We took the Métro to the stop Opéra where we were able to shop and eat lunch. We also got the chance to see the Palais Garnier.

We had a slight change in plans and after some food and shopping we walked to the Louvre, where we were able to see famous art work (Mona Lisa!) and the famous pyramids out front. Our tour director, Simon, gave us a local snack of macaroons.

After, we headed over the love lock bridge and into the Latin Quarter where we shopped and explored and enjoyed a delicious sausage dinner. 🙂

After dinner we visited Notre Dame cathedral and stepped on the center of Paris! We finished off the night by eating some gelato while looking over the river. An amazing but exhausting first day in Paris!

See you in 3 days!

Love,
Kim, Maureen and Vicky
