Spain Day One

After 20 hours of traveling, the Spain group has finally reached our first stop, Granada, Spain.

We left MFS around 1:15 pm for Newark airport. After arriving at the airport, we checked in and got some food before our long flight to Paris, France. The flight was approximately 6 hours and 30 minutes. We arrived at París around 7:30 am. We needed to get new boarding passes for our flight to Málaga. The process took extremely long and some members of the trip were randomly checked by the French airport security.

We made the flight, which took about 2 hours. However, once we got to Málaga, we found ourselves without any luggage, as our bags did not make the voyage from Paris. The airline has promised us that our bags will arrive by noon tomorrow. They also provided us with small toiletries bags for the time being.

We then took a 2 hour bus ride from Málaga to Granada, and we are now currently at la Fundacion Escuela de Solidaridad. We had some tasty pasta and homemade bread for dinner. Some students had the opportunity to attend a performance by a traveling theater group. The group included the audience and invited students to dance.

“We were connected as one through the beat of the drum” -Anthony T.

It was a fun night. Now we are off to bed, excited to do some service for the morning and touring the city of Granada later in the afternoon.
