Egypt to China

On Tuesday, we visited the fascinating collection of ancient Egyptian artifacts in the Penn Museum. Before we left, we educated ourselves on the difference between archaeologists and anthropologists. For those of you who don’t know, anthropology is the study of humans and archaeology are the study of the past. We saw real mummies and other valuable items that were thousands of years old. A fascinating background was provided for us by our tour guide, Dr. Bob. We also had an amazing opportunity to ask a skilled artifact conservator (check out her blog here: penn.museum/artifactlab) many questions. She told us that there was no proof of alien life (that she knows of), however, there are some inexplicable things in history. Regardless, we are still holding out hope. After we went to the Penn Museum, we feasted on authentic Chinese cuisine at Sakura in Chinatown. It was delicious. (Shout out to those scallion pancakes!) Then, we went shopping at the Shanghai Bazaar and the Fortune Cookie Factory. Before we left, we made a necessary stop at Jay’s Cafe where we bought bubble tea. It was a cultural experience that we will never forget!
