3/29/16: After a good night’s sleep we had another early start today and ate breakfast at 6:30 AM. At about 7:00 AM we left the hotel and headed over to Give Kids the World. We all had new jobs like helping children to get their stars placed on the walls of the Castle and serving delicious breakfast to families. The children were so excited to create their stars as they would be an everlasting mark of their stay at Give Kids the World.
After our first shift of the day, we stopped by Chick-Fil-A for lunch. Then we came back to the hotel for some free time. We swam, played cards, or took a nap to relax and recharge for our next shift. At around 4:45 PM, we were ready to go back to Give Kids the World.
We arrived at 5:30 PM ready to take on our duties at Nancy’s Kitchen. Our jobs ranged from serving families and helping them get seated to cleaning up tables and washing dishes after they finished their meals. It was great to interact with the children more, and the parents were appreciative of our help with carrying their food and providing drinks. After our second shift ended, we made our way back to the hotel again to rest from all of our volunteer work.
