Hands-on Science: Ramp Ranking, Projectile Motion and Tie-dye T-shirts

We started the day off by finishing the ramps we built on Wednesday. We got the first period to add any finishing touches to our ramps. After that all groups presented their ramps to the class. During this process we measured the ramps and found the slope of each one. We then all voted for our favorite ramp and the winners were the Flower Power by Ally, Maddie, and Olivia.

With leftover time after break we learned about projectile movement. We made our way to the red gym in order to test who could make the ball go the furthest using a projectile gun. We had to use different techniques like aiming higher to accomplish this goal. In the end we had a competition and the winners were Ally, Maddie and Olivia.

We ended our day doing some fun tie dye to release our creative imagination. We got to choose different ways from scrunching, polka dots, bullseye, or stripes to fold our t-shirts. A popular design among our group was scrunching. Then we got to choose our colors; some people choose pink, red, blue, and more. Others even mixed colors to have more variety. All of our t-shirts will come out in different way to represent all of our different creativities.
