Adventuring on our Last Day in the Dominican Republic

Today started off with another wonderful buffet getting us ready to go zip lining and explore caves. Once we got to the zip lining complex, we got strapped in our harnesses and were ready to go. We learned how to safely ride them and then we jumped right into it. We were all about sixty feet in the air weaving through the trees. It was a very relaxing and soothing ride through all 7 courses that extended a mile long. Once we were done our zip lining, seven of us were lucky enough to go on the pendulum. The pendulum had you strapped in a chair and pulled by a car up to about fifty feet and then swung back and forth. We also got to experience the hurricane house. It was incredible because it defied physics; the house was completely on a slant but was an optical illusion. You felt as if you were falling but the whole room looked normal. From this fun adventure we took a drive to go see some very interesting caves.

We went to caves filled with drawings that the indigenous Taíno people used to use for sacrifices. These drawings were well protected and we were unable to take photos in the caves. The cave was quiet and the only thing we could hear was the occasional drip of water from the stalactites. Our tour culminated at an iguana sanctuary where we got to feed the iguanas and take pictures. We then got on the bus and went to a fancy gas station where we got a real taste of Dominican food. After that brief stop for lunch we went back to the hotel we stayed at the first day in Santo Domingo. We chilled by the pool until dinner time and went to the same Italian place in Santo Domingo that we went to during the first day. Can’t wait for tomorrow!!!
