Last Day in Costa Rica

Today on our last full day in Costa Rica, we went back to the school to finish up the projects we started and continued painting and gardening. After that the group painted and decorated all of the flower pots and created beds for different plants. We planted onions, peppers, purple decorative vines, and other plants. The children at the school will be able to walk up to each row and water the plants until they are ready to be replaced with new seeds.

After working, the school prepared a delicious lunch for us. They made rice, beans, salad, and guava juice. After lunch we all got together and talked and got to know everyone more. Before we left the kids we worked with at the school gave us presents one by one. We then gave them gifts of school supplies and soaps that we made at the lodge the other day. One more gift the kids gave us was two dances from their culture.

Afterwards, we went to the hot springs and relaxed. It was beautiful and overlooked a waterfall. We spent lots of time bonding with friends and talking to others at the springs. We then came back to our hotel and had a debrief of our trip. We were given funny paper plate awards and talked about the highs and lows of the trip. It was an amazing last day to an amazing trip.
