Multicultural Philly: Around Chinatown

photo 3We started out the day by going to the Peking Duck House. The food there was really good and everyone had a good time. For appetizers we enjoyed wonton soup and spring rolls; for the main course we  had duck, General Tso’s chicken, vegetable fried-rice, white rice, ginger lo mein, and string beans; for dessert we had ice cream in all different flavors (red bean, ginger, green tea, and vanilla).

Then, we went to the fortune cookie factory. We saw the cookies being made on a conveyor belt, and a woman placing fortunes inside them.

Then, we went to a bubble tea shop, and we tried some bubble tea. One student said that, ” It had the consistency of a milkshake, but it had ice blended into it sorta like a water ice, and the bubbles were made of tapioca, and no one really liked them.”

Our cultural experience in Chinatown was enjoyed by all even though it was the coldest and windiest day of the week.
