Philadelphia Architecture: Itinerary

Friday, 20 March: Old City

We begin in the historic part of the city where our city began. We will spend the day walking around Old City, looking at new and old buildings. We will have lunch at the Bourse.

 

Monday, 23 March: Society Hill

We will spend the day walking around Society Hill. We will see the historic area and learn about Edmund Bacon’s vision for the area. We will also see some of the newer additions to the area. Lunch will be on South Street. We will be visiting a property management company, so look nice.

 

Tuesday, 24 March: Broad Street around City Hall

We will start at the Basilica or at PAFA (still in the works), then take a tour of the Masonic Temple.  We will have lunch at Reading Terminal and then take a trip to the top of City Hall.

 

Wednesday, 25 March: West of Broad

Highlights for Wednesday are a tour of the Kimmel Center and a tour of the new Barnes museum space. Lunch will be at the Comcast Building’s food court.

 

Thursday, 24 March: University City

We will start with the head of architecture of the University of Pennsylvania giving us a tour of some of the remarkable buildings on Penn’s campus.  Lunch will be in Houston Hall on the Penn campus. We will tour Drexel in the afternoon.

 

Friday, 25 March: Moorestown

We will visit a local architectural firm. Back at school, we will wrap up our week.snow day
