Plants & Caves: Exploring Padre Nuesto

We started the day off with a lovely hike throughout Padre Nuestro (el bosque)! We saw many native plants and learned their importance to the people who colonized the area. The heat was intense, but with the help of our fantastic tour guide we powered through. Our hike, which was nearly a mile long, was concluded with a visit to a cave. The cave was dark and mysterious, truly breathtaking.

After the hike we cooled off with a shower back at our hotel and prepared for our next adventure. The bus took us to Casa de Campo, one of the nicest resorts in the world. The views at the resort were amazing. We had a wonderful lunch of burgers at a restaurant within the resort (Bar Monaco). We then went back to our hotel to swim in one of the four pools here. As we swam, we got to watch the beautiful sunset from our pool which overlooks the ocean. After swimming for hours we got dressed for dinner and ate. Overall today was an eventful day and we look forward to more in the future.
