What’s coming in Quilting

photo 7Hello!
I am in the middle of making plans for Intensive Learning.

To make the week a little special, I would like to do two things, if you guys think it would be fun.

1. Have each of you bring in a snack for one of the days so we can fortify ourselves as we create quilts.
2. Have lunch somewhere other than the Dining Hall. I was thinking of trips to two or three restaurants on Main Street (definitely one lunch out when we go down to Burlington to quilt) and some international meals in our class room: I was thinking of croissants with ham and cheese or jam and peanut butter one day, Chinese another, maybe Mexican. . . .

I would like each student to contribute $15 for lunches. Could you run this by your parents and let me know if it is an idea you would like me to pursue?

Also !!! on the first day, when I teach you how to use the sewing machines, you can make something for yourself. I suggest making a sleeve for a laptop or tablet, but there are lots of possibilities. If you have an idea of something quilted (and simple) you would like to make, let me know. Also, be sure you either have the object with you on Friday, March 20, or that you know what its measurements are.

Looking forward to this!
