China: The Great Wall and noodle-making

imageToday was a blast.

On our way to the Great Wall, we went to a noodle shop for lunch. The owner of the restaurant welcomed us and told us we would be learning how to cut and roll noodles. She also was very complimentary of our language skills. There was a competition to see who could cut the best noodles. We were split into two teams, and Elyse was on the winning team and also had the best noodle.

After lunch we went to the Great Wall – Mutianyu. The walk up was tiring, but the scenery was beautiful.

After, to get down, we took a toboggan down what looked like a luge course. What a ride.

The rest of the time we were able to shop and bargain with the local merchants. They were selling anything from maps, books, fans, and much more.

Beijing was great and we cannot wait to go to Chendu tomorrow,

  1. Looks like noodle making is quite a task.
Than k you for all the photos. Also climbing the great wall would be hard for me, where is the railing. How long does it take on an average to climb.
