Costa Rica: Planting trees with local children

Day Two

20140322-081023.jpgAfter breakfast at 7:30, we headed to the school to work with the children. When we got there, we were each assigned a child and we planted trees with them.  We then helped the students to paint signs with the name of the tree and their name to place in front of the trees we just planted. After our work was finished, we were able to play soccer with the children. It was sad to leave after spending the full day with them, but it was so fun being able to work and talk to the children in Spanish!

After the day at the school, we went back to our rooms to get ready for white water rafting! Before rafting, we jumped off rocks into the river! The rafting was so unbelievably fun. While enjoying the rapid waters, we all jumped out and swam in the flat areas, making sure we didn’t swim near any rocks! When we got back to the lodge, we went in the pool together and played games such as chicken and sharks and minnows before showering and getting ready for dinner.
