Finishing Touches and Pizza

So today at the boat we added the finishing touches.  We painted the rails, the boxes that hold all the sailors’ equipment, and the name plates for the boat. We finished sanding at the Bayshore center, a task that took most of our workday. Other members of our group used small pickaxes to remove rust from the chains on the boat, and we finished the last coats of oil on some of the wooden pieces.

Sanding

The students at the Bay shore center finished sanding the booms and gaffs. It took quite a bit of time, because we were only 3 people and used 220 grit sand.

Pizza

At the end of the day we celebrated finishing our work, by eating pizza and wings with the crew.  It was a great time to get know the crew a bit more and enjoy great food.
