Mindfulness – Day 1

Today in yoga, meditation, and mindfulness, we started off the morning with a yoga flow, learning several warrior positions and other poses. Then we made breakfast consisting of chia pudding, yogurt, banana bread, and fruits. Everything was very healthy and included all of our dietary restrictions. Then we learned about the 4 noble truths which include suffering, source of suffering, end of suffering, and the path to the end of suffering. Then we learned about the eight limbs of yoga, and surprisingly, they have similarities to the Quaker SPICES. From there we made and packed up our lunches and headed to Historic Smithville Park. It was a perfect location for eating lunch and taking a mediation walk. We were able to hike and explore the area whilst focusing on our inner thoughts. Finishing up the day, we drove back to the school and journaled according to our assigned prompts.
