PennVet Center

March 26th we went to PennVet and learned a great deal about what goes into training a service dog. When we arrived the trainer instructed us to ignore the dogs, for they were on the job and it was important for them to distinguish the difference between work and play. We were then given a presentation, in which the dogs showed us some of the skills they would use out in the field and we also learned how vigorous the training process is. After the presentation, we were taken on a tour through the dog’s very realistic training grounds. It was a great trip and it was amazing to see the good work that these dogs and humans are doing.
