Seventh Grade: First Day in Washington, D.C.

By Nolan

3/26/24

Today, the seventh graders traveled on a coach bus to Washington, D.C.

First, we went to the National Museum of African American History & Culture. We started on the first floor, which was focused on slavery and segregation. We slowly ascended floor by floor, and the museum was more focused on African American achievements, putting them in the spotlight.

After this, we got food at the food trucks while some of the students went to their choice museum. The students saw many important and remarkable monuments, and their importance was very clear.

After we saw the monuments, we met back at the Washington Monument and then proceeded to have fun on the field for about an hour. Then we traveled back to the Steinbruck Center to eat pizza and snacks. Finally, we settled down and went to bed, awaiting the next exciting day ahead of us!
