South Jersey Service, Day Five — Friendship and crafts

Today, we started off by writing letters to the Lower School students who we visited earlier in the week. We got to spend time making individualized cards thanking each student for their time. After we finished making the cards, we headed down to Ms. Temple’s fourth-grade class where we helped them write and revise their persuasive essays. After lunch, we transitioned to the second grade, where we played indoor games with 2J including checkers, chess, four-in-a-row, and Uno. We also had a chance to share with 2J what our week during IL has been like. They were excited to see photos of their friends from earlier in the week. After about 45 minutes with 2J, we went to 2B, where we made arts and crafts for the Cambridge Retirement Home that we visited earlier in the week. These crafts included making paper flowers, spring drawings, Origami, and personal cards with attached photos from our visit. These activities were a perfect end to a week of giving back to a community that served us so well.
