Thursday at Bayshore

Today, we were applying a second waterproofing layer to the large masts of the ship. We also arranged and painted the pulley blocks. In between the painting, small groups picked up trash along the Bayshore premises. The weather was breezy and sunny, so it made for an ideal day for working outside.

Another activity we that did today was a walk around the wetlands. While we were walking we saw a lot of abandoned houses, wild grass, and abandoned trucks. Though there were a lot of abandoned houses, we did see a newer house near the Bayshore premises. We attempted to walk around one of the abandoned houses, but later discovered that it was private property.

Note from Dr. Mosher — Thanks to Jakob for teaching us the Dab game as our morning icebreaker. Our students continue to receive compliments about their industriousness and work ethic from the Bayshore volunteers directing us this week. Keep up the good work!
