We have arrived in Florence

After a long and uneventful flight and a long and beautiful drive from Rome to Florence, we arrived at our hotel tired and hungry.  But look at us now: we’ve just had lunch at a little restaurant on the Piazza de Santa Croce.  The sun shone all day; some of us wore shorts!  We took a walking tour of the city and ended up at the magnificent Duomo. “How did they do that?” was the question of the hour.  We had a bit of down time back at the hotel before we headed out for a delicious dinner at another restaurant on the Piazza de Santa Croce.  This very busy and successful day was topped with a gelato and a class preparing us for another full day tomorrow.  In the meantime, we will sleep soundly tonight.
