Yoga Retreat Day 5: Boat Pose … on a Boat

Today we started with an intense vinyasa class that had a lot of ab work in it. After breakfast, we made mala necklaces/bracelets with the full 108 beads (one = wholeness, zero = emptiness, eight = infinity, plus a lot of other reasons for the number 108) to use as a meditation tool. Then we talked about the 8 limbs of yoga and how they apply to daily life, which was really inspiring and thought-provoking.

After lunch we went canoeing! Some of us made nature art instead, though, and we were canoeing in a canal so were constantly engaged which is why we only have a single picture of Jack Stern doing boat pose in a boat.

When we returned we had a fun yoga class, bringing back the inversions and acro-yoga from earlier in the week.

Finally, after dinner we watched a Ted Talk called the Gift of Inadequacy and shared our biggest vulnerabilities with each other. After an intense talk, we celebrated our last night together around a bonfire sharing stories.
